Woman, 75, hospitalized after collision with pickup truck in West Michigan – MLive.com

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – A woman sustained critical injuries after failing to stop at a stop sign and pulling out in front of an oncoming vehicle, Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said.

Police responded to a 12:30 p.m. report of a car versus pickup truck crash Tuesday, Sept. 20, in the area of 96th Avenue near New Holland Street in Holland Township.

Police said a 56-year-old Zeeland man was driving a pickup truck, which was pulling a trailer, and traveling south on 96th Avenue, approaching New Holland Street.

Another vehicle, driven by a 75-year-old West Olive woman, was traveling east on New Holland Street and approaching 96th Avenue.

Police said the West Olive woman failed to stop at the stop sign on New Holland Street, at 96th Avenue, and pulled out in front of the pickup truck.

The woman was taken to an area hospital with injuries that police said are critical. The man of the pickup truck refused medical treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
