Pickup truck stolen with dog inside: London police Back to video

A 2022 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen on Monday around 4:30 p.m. from a parking lot at Fanshawe Park Road west and Richmond Street with the driver’s one-year-old dog in the vehicle, police say.

The truck is black with orange trim around the hood and grill and licence plate AP44762. The dog is a brown Mastiff-Shepherd mix named Jaxx, wearing a red collar.

Londoners are asked to contact police at 519-661-5670 if they see the vehicle, but warned not to approach it. Tips can also be sent to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.

The theft of a vehicle with a pet inside are are, but not unheard of. It was just a few days ago in Barrie that a Mazda was stolen by two women and its 91-year-old owner’s dog was in the vehicle too. According to CTV News, the vehicle later crashed in a nearby community and the pooch, Teddy was reunited with its owner.

One person had been arrested, but police were reportedly still searching for a second suspect as of last weekend, per CTV News.
